Mark W. Oliver 62, of Iowa City and formerly of Sumner, died Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at Union Mound Cemetery in Sumner. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner is assisting with the services. 

Mark Warren, son of Warren and Irene (Muether) Oliver was born, November 30, 1952, at Omaha, Nebraska. He attended college for one year at William Penn University in Oskaloosa and for one year at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He worked for Payless Lumber Company for fourteen years and retired from Sears in Coralville after fifteen years of service. He enjoyed woodcrafts and making things with his hands. He was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, but also liked the Chicago Cubs. He was a loyal NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed Jeff Gordon.

There are no immediate survivors. Mark’s guardian is Bobbie Hans of Swisher, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Joseph Muether Oliver, who died in 2005.
